●●SolidNiche GemCozy

DOS-compatible CPUID tool when cpufetch already exists for modern systems.

Strengths
  • DOS binary output runs on 386-class hardware or DOSBox-X without dependencies.
  • Maps CPU signatures to microarchitectures like Zen 4 with codename and process node.
  • Supports obscure vendors like Cyrix, VIA, Zhaoxin, Rise, and Transmeta.
Weaknesses
  • Author admits Intel Core/Thread count and multi-socket support still missing.
  • CPU info category already served by cpufetch, CPU-X, and hwinfo.
Target Audience

Post Description

Written in Rust mostly because I'm no good with C (and Rust pattern matching is really useful with tables of CPU information).

Still to do: Intel Core/Thread count, a bunch more Intel CPU mappings, multiple sockets, and perhaps Centaur-specific data sections.
