MidSlick

Markdown pastebin with themes, but Gist already does permanent free hosting.

Strengths
  • GitHub Gist import feature saves migration time for existing users.
  • Multiple visual themes let you match the rendering to your brand.
Weaknesses
  • Seven-day expiry on free tier is restrictive compared to permanent Gist storage.
  • Crowded category with many established free alternatives like Gist.

Post Description

I write a lot in Markdown. Notes, ideas, drafts, half-finished thoughts, lots of code. Lots and lots of code. One thing that has always annoyed me is there's nowhere to just slap a .md file, share it, and have it look pretty.

Most platforms either try to turn writing into a social network, a CMS, or some AI something or other. Sometimes you just want to take a Markdown file and put it on the internet without ceremony.

The paid plans have a couple of features like encryption at rest, password protection, launch and expiry dates, etc. It's probably got a few bugs, so let me know what you think or find.
